Chuck Acosta Scholarship

About the Scholarship
The Chuck Acosta Scholarship honors the legacy of Chuck Acosta, whose 35-year career in education included serving as a bilingual education consultant at the Los Angeles County Office of Education and contributing to numerous local, county, and state educational committees. Through his leadership, vision, and advocacy, Chuck inspired educators and policymakers alike to champion multilingual learners across California.
This scholarship supports bilingual classified personnel pursuing teaching or counseling credentials, helping them meet the needs of English learners through bilingual education. (Not applicable to high school students.)
The Impact
This year, 2026, will mark the 30th year of the Multilingual Academic Programs Leadership Network's Scholarship recognition.
